University of Oxford

Lakshand is currently studying for a degree in Physics and Philosophy at the University of Oxford. During his summer in Year 11, he volunteered at an orphanage to teach Mathematics. In year 13, he volunteered for a student mentorship programme where he taught younger students (aged 10 - 16) Maths and Science. Though teaching someone how to pass an exam is something universally done in classrooms, he believes that giving someone an understanding of the underlying concepts in subjects like physics and maths is far more valuable. It allows for a greater appreciation of the subject, and Lakshand incorporates that philosophy in his tutoring. He enjoys playing badminton, rock climbing, playing the guitar, and reading.
